Bankruptcy Law & Collections: Douglas H. Kraft

Mr. Kraft is the managing partner of Kraft Opich LLP in Citrus Heights. He was
an executive vice president of a regional bank before entering the practice of bankruptcy and commercial law in 1991. Today, Mr. Kraft represents many of Greater Sacramento's leading financial institutions in matters of bankruptcy, creditors' rights, commercial law and real estate.

Mr Kraft's education includes: B.B.A. degree in 1974, and M.B.A. degree in
1979, at Loyola University in Los Angeles, California; J.D. degree, with Great Distinction, in 1991 at McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific.

Business & Commercial Litigation: Richard H. Hart

Mr. Hart has practiced continuously for 34 years and to date has never lost a
trial verdict. Martindale-Hubbell consistently rates Richard Hart among the highest by peers. Richard is a local California attorney with a national reputation, as high profile cases have put his firm on the list as one of the most prestigious legal teams representative of complex litigation issues. Since 1995, he has
owned The Law Offices of Richard H. Hart, a litigation firm based in Sacramento that expanded to Graeagle, Calif. in 2005. He has tried cases for several major insurance companies and the joint pwers authority ACWA-JPIA.

Mr. Hart received his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Oregon in 1970. He earned his law degree from California Western School of Law in 1973.

Creditors Rights & Commercial Litigation: Andrew M. Steinheimer

Mr. Steinheimer is a partner in Ellis Law Group LLP. Mr. Steinheimer has a broad civil litigation practice and represents individuals, professionals and businesses
in all aspects of litigation. Mr. Steinheimer has successfully represented clients in jury and bench trials and has extensive appellate experience in both state and federal court of appeals. Mr. Steinheimer’s practice includes commercial litigation, professional negligence defense, business litigation and product and premises liability. Mr. Steinheimer also has developed an expertise in defending claims brought under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (“FDCPA”) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”), and has defended hundreds of such cases in state and federal court.

Mr. Steinheimer obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of California, San Diego in 1994. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1998.

 

Probate Law: Michelle Goff

Michelle A. Goff is a partner in the firm Goff, Conway-Spatola Law Group and certified by the State of California as a specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law. Her firm counsels clients in all aspects of estate planning as well as represents beneficiaries in probate disputes. Areas of expertise include wills and probate, trusts, health care directives, conservertorships and taxation. She also litigates disputes in probate court.

Michelle graduated from CSU Sacramento with an MBA and received her law degree from McGeorge School of Law in 1996.

Divorce Lawyer: Margaret B. Walton

Margaret B. Walton has been a divorce lawyer since 1983 practicing as a member of a Sacramento litigation firm and as a sole practitioner. She has specialized in divorce law exclusively in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Yolo and San Joaquin counties since 1988. Margaret is a Certified Family Law Specialist, a title conferred by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, signifying she represents the highest standards in the practice of divorce law. Moreover, she has received extensive post graduate education in mediation and conflict resolution.

Since 1991, Margaret has served as a Judge Pro Tem for family law settlement conferences in Sacramento County. Margaret received her law degree from the University of California, Davis.

Real Estate Lawyer: Eric S. Haiman

Mr. Haiman of Atwood & Associates specializes in civil trials, appeals and real estate law. His practice includes representation of financial institutions, title companies, property owners, developers and parties to real estate transactions. Mr. Haiman is an expert in complex title and secured transactions law, land use law and litigation, the rights and obligations of property owners

Mr. Haiman received his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Cruz in
1987 and his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991.

Real Estate Litigation Attorney: Theresa LaVoie

Ms. La Voie is a partner and co-founder of the Sacramento law firm of Ellis Law Group LLP. Ms. La Voie has been a civil litigator since 1989 and she has extensive experience in the practice areas of real estate, professional liability, complex business litigation, premises liability, products liability, farm and ranch litigation, and equine law. She represents both defendants and plaintiffs, in both state and federal court throughout California, and regularly represents clients before the appellate courts.

In 1989, Ms. La Voie graduated from Southwestern University School of Law magna cum laude, and while in law school served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Arthur Alarcon, Judge for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Banking Law Attorney: Martha Opich

Martha Opich has represented banks for more than two decades practicing in the areas of banking, finance and business transactions. Eleven of those years were spent as in-house counsel to two financial institutions - U.S. Bancorp and Sacramento Savings Bank. Marty formed Kraft Opich LLP with Douglas Kraft after practicing in a Sacramento law firm as Senior Counsel specializing in the representation of financial institutions. While serving as Vice President and Senior Corporate Counsel for U.S. Bancorp from 1997-2001, Marty was responsible for legal matters pertaining to Northern California and Northern Nevada.

Banking & Business Law Attorney: Ronald R. Poirier

Ronald R. Poirier is a partner of Ellis Law Group LLP. He represents individuals, professionals and businesses in all aspects of litigation. His current practice focuses primarily on complex civil litigation in state and federal court, professional malpractice defense, high-end personal injury/wrongful death cases and banking law.

Mr. Poirier is admitted to practice before all Courts in the State of California, and the Federal District Court of California for the Eastern and Northern Districts, as well as the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the California State Bar and the Sacramento County Bar Association.

Mr. Poirier was a former prosecutor with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s office where he prosecuted over 20 felony/misdemeanor jury trials and more than 75 felony/misdemeanor court trials.
